Tracy Worthey is a native Charlottean and is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources at Winston-Salem State University. Ms. Worthey has over 20 years of experience in higher education and nearly 20 years in human resources. Her higher education career started at UNC Charlotte in the University Career Center, then progressed in the human resources department to the position of Director of Talent Acquisition. Before joining the University, she worked in banking, retail, and insurance. Ms. Worthey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Johnson C. Smith University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is currently pursuing a DBA to develop a leadership program in higher education, as well as to create an employee career center to assist employees that are seeking career growth.
Because organizational success significantly contributes to strong, positive leadership and employee satisfaction, Ms. Worthey's research interest will be in management with an emphasis on leadership development.
