Olusola Omosaiye (Sola), SDM, is a native of North Carolina. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Florida International University and an MBA with a concentration in General Management from Meredith College. Sola provides engineering leadership at Amazon.com, Inc., serving as a fintech professional based out of North Carolina.
Sola moved to North Carolina after completing his bachelor’s degree to begin his professional career with International Business Machines (IBM) in Research Triangle Park, NC. At IBM, Sola served as a software engineer developing tools and leading teams to deliver solutions to IBM customers. After 12 years of service with IBM, Sola spent the next 10 years delivering software solutions and leading engineering teams in the healthcare tech space. In this time, Sola gained experience in the payer, provider and pharmaceutical healthcare sectors. The common thread has been to learn the role that technology plays for the customers in the sector and then deliver by exceeding perceived or expected value. Today, the same approach is applied to delivering solutions in the fintech arena.
Sola has led teams in the air logistics arena and currently leads multiple initiatives and teams within Amazon’s fintech mission. Chief amongst the fintech innovations is Amazon’s in-house banking initiatives.
Sola is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research interest stems from seeing the key role that an entity like Amazon can play in providing financial backing to commerce and its effect on an economy.
In his spare time, Sola enjoys golf, history, movies and spending time with his family. Sola enjoys serving at his Church and learning about theological doctrine as well. He also enjoys expressing his creativity through taking on home projects. He currently enjoys an above 80 percent completion rate on these home projects according to his loving wife.
