Major Matthew Flynn is currently the assistant professor of aerospace studies at UNC Charlotte AFROTC Detachment 592. In this role, Maj. Flynn teaches and mentors aspiring Air Force officers as they prepare for careers as military leaders. Prior to UNC Charlotte, Matt was a lead program manager for the development of an $80B Department of Defense program, executive officer at the National Reconnaissance Office, and logistics branch chief in Kabul, Afghanistan. He graduated cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also earned a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, garnering numerous honors including the Outstanding Student Award and the Award of Academic Excellence for Best Thesis. 

Matt’s DBA research interests include program and operations management, technology and innovation management, and leadership effectiveness and development.
