Kim L. Carter, a native of North Carolina, is committed to pursuing a career in professorship. Kim currently works at PepsiCo Bottling Group as a human resources payroll administrator. Her previous roles include human resources administrative assistant, salon owner, and EC resource assistant with Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools.
Ms. Carter received her cosmetology certification from Carolina Beauty College and both her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and MBA in Business Administration from Winston-Salem State University. Kim chose to pursue a Doctorate in Business Administration at UNC Charlotte because the program aligns with her future career goals to lead organizations and obtain faculty positions within academic institutions. In addition, the research and dissertation involved with the program will help her gain insight on education in relation to projects, specific modes of growth and organizational practices. These lessons will prepare her as a business leader with a systems approach in management and business operations.
In her spare time, Kim enjoys participating in community outreach. She serves on the board of directors with the Resolute Foundation, which ensures unification and empowerment of women and children of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. She also volunteers for the Triad Minority & Business Expo, which is designed to help entrepreneurs connect with resources.
