Hussein is the Chief Information Officer for Purdue Pharma L.P. In his role, Hussein leads the Information Technology and Information Security functions for the organization and its U.S. subsidiaries. Before moving to the U.S., Hussein assumed multiple leadership roles internationally. In addition to his experience in managing multiple complex information technology transformations in pharmaceutical, retail and not-for-profit industries, Hussein also assumed multiple business management roles including a General Manager role for a large pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution operation in Dubai, UAE. Hussein earned his master’s degree in Business Administration from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Hussein is PMP certified and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the Applied Science University, Amman, Jordan. 

Hussein lives with his wife and two daughters in Raleigh, North Carolina. In his spare time, he enjoys running and working out.

Hussein’s research interest focuses on the impact of the excessive availability of personal data through the daily technologies and the ability of such technologies to intelligently capture data on the user personality, preferences, and behaviors. The shift in the organizational behaviors and business models, the change in the political and social environments, and the information security risks resulting from the availability of such data.
