Fatma is a diverse healthcare professional who has practiced dentistry overseas in Cairo, Egypt. She received her Bachelor of Oral and Dental Medicine at Ain Shams University and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA. Fatma has extensive experience in healthcare process improvement leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodology.

She led several process improvement strategic initiatives at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and conducted multiple process mapping projects to highlight opportunities for performance improvement and develop more dynamic strategic plans based on best practices and patient experience.

Fatma has been a fellow of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (FISQua) and a member of Greater Charlotte Healthcare Executive Group (GCHEG). She is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified SAFe 5 Scrum Master. Fatma collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams to create master designs of a health system structured to get the best health outcomes for high-performing healthcare systems wired to continuous improvement, ongoing innovation and efficiency at the most reasonable cost. In addition, she has experience as an adjunct instructor teaching healthcare courses at the college level. Fatma believes the DBA Program will add value to her leadership skills and enhance her entire career. The return on the time and effort invested will be exponential. 

Fatma is a mother of 3 beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, reading and traveling with her kids.

Fatma’s research will primarily focus on how technology, data analytics and artificial intelligence have transformed healthcare delivery and improved physician-patient communication.
