Arian leads Security Strategy, Operations and Solutions at Capital One. This includes overseeing teams running Security Technology, Executive Protection, Threat Management, Intelligence, Travel Security and the Global Security Operations Center. Prior to joining Capital One, Arian spent nearly 24 years at Bank of America where she served in numerous roles stretching from retail to security to marketing. Most recently she served as the Reporting Center of Excellence Executive overseeing Bank of America’s data analytics and reporting across the firm. Previous to that role, she held various Security Executive roles leading the bank’s safety strategy, OSHA governance, security technology initiatives, and the security fusion center, bringing together internal partners to collaborate on enterprise security risks. Arian received Six Sigma green belt certification for designing quality control measures on security incident data at Bank of America. She also served on Diversity & Inclusion councils and received company accolades for her leadership in creating an inclusive environment.
Arian is the co-executive sponsor and a founding member of Global Security Pride, a Common Interest Committee (CIC) within the Overseas Security Alliance Council (OSAC) under the U.S. Department of State, dedicated to supporting, connecting and elevating the LGBTQIA+ community and allies in the security field. Arian is also the Chair of the FBI’s Domestic Security Alliance Council’s (DSAC) Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee and is on the Advisory Council for the Women Business Collaborative, a non-profit dedicated to the advancement of women business leaders.
Arian earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach, and was a Ph.D. candidate in Criminology and Social Justice at Northeastern University prior to joining Bank of America’s Corporate Security team. Adding to her academic experience, she served as Managing Editor for two Criminology journals: Crime and Delinquency and Justice Quarterly.
Arian’s current research interests include interpersonal and organizational deviance.
