Sarah E. Shike,
DBA Alumna Class of 2021
Instructor of Management, Western Illinois University

Sarah E. Shike has taught in the Management and Marketing Department at Western Illinois University for 9 years.   She teaches introductory business and management courses, as well business decision-making, and business ethics. She has presented training and business ethic workshops for a variety of organizations and in recent years has been involved with a "flipping the classroom" pilot project in her department. Prior to teaching she served as a Faculty Assistant at the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs and as the Director of the Western Illinois Entrepreneurship Center at Western Illinois University for five years.

Mrs. Shike received an M.B.A. from Western Illinois University and a B.S. in agriculture from Southern Illinois University.

On a personal note, she lives on a grain and livestock farm in west-central Illinois and has a side business making and selling accessories that are marketed online, in local boutiques, and at festivals.

Mrs. Shike is excited for the ways a UNCC DBA will equip her to reach her current goals. She looks forward to honing her research skills, positioning herself for a tenure-track teaching position, and preparing for additional leadership roles. Her key areas of research interests are management focused; more specifically, leadership, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, and ethics.
