MiKayla Raines' previous academic studies include research on the importance of the fast-casual dining industry in today’s society, especially in North Carolina and the effects that brand image and attitude had in these fast-casual dining facilities. MiKayla has received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She also received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Her personal interests and hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, watching television and movies, and listening to music. MiKayla’s reasoning for pursuing the Doctorate of Business Administration is because her career aspirations are to work for a Fortune 500 company and her desire to obtain a terminal degree. She knew that the DBA would be perfect blend of what she needed to succeed in the workplace.

MiKayla’s area of research interest is the importance of ethical and moral messages in advertisements by major companies to battle negative societal norms. In conjunction, are there influences that these messages in advertisements have on a company's brand image and attitude. Also, the area of research includes the psychological aspect of an advertisement and how it can be utilized in a positive manner. She wants to be able to evaluate how a consumer watches an advertisement and is influenced either to purchase or not purchase the product or service. The consumer/brand attitude is the overall focus and how all of the aspects of an advertisement can either make or break a company’s rapport with their consumers.
