Mark is the Charlotte market leader for Cousins Properties (NYSE: CUZ), a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). He is responsible for all day-to-day operations in the region including serving customers, managing and leasing assets, and seeking new opportunities to grow the company. Mark’s career in commercial real estate (CRE) has included stints at Bank of America, Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, and Foundry Commercial, among others. Mark serves on the Board of Center City Partners and Historic South End, is a parent-representative on the Cotswold-Billingsville SLT (School Leadership Team), and is a Blumenthal Performing Arts Development Committee member.
Mark’s research interest areas include the commercial REIT industry broadly, lease transaction duration in CRE, co-working as a disruption trend in CRE, and the relationship between risk tolerance and cyclicity in commercial development.
