Background

Kellie McCorvey works in structural planning and administration at Wells Fargo Corporation in Charlotte, NC. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2018, she had various roles at Bank of America including: Chief Operations Officer for Operational Risk Management and Enterprise Independent Testing, Compliance Executive, Portfolio Management Executive, Operational Risk Executive and Operations Manager. Before joining Bank of America in 2006, Kellie worked at Wachovia Corporation and Celanese Corporation.  Kellie graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Florida A&M University and earned an MBA with a Finance concentration from Auburn University. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of North Carolina. Kellie is involved with a number of civic and religious organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and FACET Services Incorporated.

Research Interest

Kellie’s research examines how U.S. based banks implemented changes to their risk management and ethics practices in response to increased regulatory expectations stemming from the 2008 financial crisis. Her work explores the correlation between the level and type of investment in risk management and ethics, and the institution’s profitability and market performance. This research aims to identify best practices and help banks optimize their risk management investments to drive the greatest possible shareholder return while protecting consumers and preserving the integrity of our financial system.
