Background

Samantha has her B.S. in Marketing Communications from Plattsburgh State University in New York which included studies abroad at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England and Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. She completed her M.S. in Organizational Communication, Learning & Design through a partnership program with Ithaca College & Cornell University.

With an ability to motivate teams and build strategies that contribute to an engaged workforce, Samantha has worked in financial services for the last 20 years. The bulk of her career has been spent with Wachovia and MetLife in roles focusing on employment branding, corporate communications, and talent acquisition. She is currently responsible for experienced hire and campus recruiting efforts with Dixon Hughes Goodman, a top 20 accounting/advisory firm headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Throughout her corporate employment, she has continued to teach part-time Communications, Marketing & Business courses with Central Piedmont Community College, SUNY Empire State and Wingate University. Mrs. Reeves lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Joe, and son, Preston. On the weekends, the Reeves trio can often be found on a golf course.

Research Interest

Samantha has been passionate about sharing her knowledge and insight of organizational communications/strategy with university-level students and has focused on applying her practical experience to her teaching. Mrs. Reeves completed her doctoral dissertation on a topic related to talent selection or the value of leveraging an engaged workforce for recruitment. She’s also interested in research on generational differences with employee engagement and employment expectations.
